About Zoë Corbyn

I am a freelance journalist based in San Francisco. I write about science, technology, research, the environment, higher education and ideas. My work appears regularly in The Guardian/Observer and on the BBC News website. Other publications I have written for include The Times (of London), Financial Times, Nature and Nature News, New Scientist, The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Lancet and Times Higher Education.

I was previously a reporter at Times Higher Education covering science and research policy. Prior to that I was a reporter at Research Fortnight and Research Europe magazines where I began my career in journalism.

I have an MSc in science communication from Imperial College London and a BSc (hons) in chemistry from Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia, my home town. I relocated from London to San Francisco and became a freelancer in May 2010.
